Fire in the open – Whaddon - South Cambs

At 2.07pm on Friday (4) crews were called to a fire on Bridge Street in Whaddon. 

Crews from Gamlingay and Cambridge, along with the misting unit from Burwell and a crew from Royston in Hertfordshire, attended the incident.  

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving around three acres of standing crop and hedgerow. They extinguished the fire and returned to their stations by 4.15pm. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
